As a result of the operation of this website and in connection with any introductory services provided, we may obtain certain information about you.

The Guild of Business Finance Professionals (“Guild”) does not offer or provide any services directly to any external third parties. It operates as an introductory source for and between its members and business owners that may be seeking the services offered by the intermediary firms owned by our members. These intermediary firms operate completely independently from the Guild.

The Guild is composed of individuals who may represent a firm or business employed in provisioning financial products and services. Each of these firms will have its own privacy policy and should you choose to engage with any of these firms then you should ask for sight of that firm’s privacy policy and satisfy yourself with that policy.

The Guild will rarely ask for further information other than your contact details but regardless, the Guild recognises and upholds your rights.

Your personal data is protected by legal rights, which include your rights to object to our processing of your personal data; request that your personal data is erased or corrected; request access to your personal data.

Any person wishing to exercise any of the rights listed above can make a request in writing. We aim to comply with access requests as soon as possible but must do so within one month of receipt of the request unless there is good reason for a delay.

Information which we may collect and process about you

The Guild will collect information limited to but sufficient to provide your contact details to a member(s). These details will include but may not be limited to your name, your business name, your contact telephone number and your email address.

This information will be freely submitted by you to a member(s) via this website or directly to our member(s).

We limit the collection and use of your information to the extent that it is sufficient to make an effective introduction to one of our members.

We only use your personal information as outlined in this privacy policy and will adhere to relevant data protection laws. The information that you provide will be entirely used to effect an introduction to a member(s).

The Guild does not market its introductory service to its members externally and you will not be asked for consent to do so.

This website may now or in future contain links to and from other applications, plug-ins and websites of other networks, advertisers, and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that they (and any services that may be accessible through them) have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or for any personal data that may be collected through these apps, websites, or services. The Guild members’ websites are one such example of this and as stated, you should confirm your satisfaction with each firm’s privacy policy directly with that firm.

Retention of your data

The Guild will implement and adhere to retention policies relating to your personal data and will ensure that your personal data is only retained for as long as it is still required to provide you with services or is necessary.

Amendments to this policy

No changes to this Privacy Policy are valid or have any effect unless agreed by the Guild in writing. The Guild reserves the right to vary this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updated terms will be displayed on it’s website. It is your responsibility to check this Privacy Policy from time to time to verify such variations.

If you have a concern or complaint

If you are unhappy with aspect of the Guild’s management of your personal data you have the right to make a formal complaint. You can do this in writing, via email and sending your complaint or concern to info@bfpguild.org

A representative of the Guild will firstly acknowledge receipt of you email and depending on the nature of your complaint, provide you with step-by-step process and target date to respond to you with a resolution. If after delivering our final resolution you are not satisfied, you also have a right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office which regulates the processing of personal data.
